In 2023, with fewer pandemic restrictions, many of the popular PM conferences are back on track and offering in-person attendance once again. We’ve compiled a list of major project management gatherings, seminars, workshops and masterclasses announced so far, so you can start planning your attendance and hopefully land some early bird tickets.

1. Project Summit Business Analyst World (PMBA)
Where and when: Orlando, FL, US, April 3- April 5 | Toronto, ON, Canada, May 15 – May 18 |
Washington, DC, US, June 12 – June 14 | Boston, MA, US, October 16 – October 19 | Vancouver, BC, Canada, November 13 – November 15 | Chicago, IL, US, November 27 – November 29 | Fall Global Virtual Conference, TBA.
What to expect: The Project Summit Business Analyst World remains one of the largest conferences in North America and Canada. Events are spread throughout the entire year and will be held at prestigious locations, including the Doubletree at Universal Studios in Orlando, the Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel and the Pinnacle Hotel in Harbourfront, Vancouver. Participants will be able to earn both PDUs and CDUs, listen to expert speakers (the names are still TBA) and get involved in hands-on workshops.
2. Project Management Symposium – University of Maryland
Where and when: In person / Online / Hybrid, Adel H. Student Stamp Union, University of Maryland, MD, April 20 – April 21.
What to expect: This year, the Project Management symposium will also include in-person attendance, in addition to the hybrid and 100% online options. The in-person component of the conference will be hosted in the Grand Ballroom on the 1st floor of the University of Maryland. The organizers promise an exciting array of accomplished and insightful guest speakers who will broach diverse subjects in the industry, government and academia. Earn PDUs, hone your PM skills and network with like-minded professionals, all at incredibly cost-effective rates. If it sparks your interest, you should book your spot, since tickets are limited.
3. Australian Institute of Project Management
Where and when: Sydney, Australia | March 24.
What to expect: The 2023 summit hosted by the Australian Institute of Project Management focuses on the current industry turmoil brought about by hard-pressed labor markets, rampant inflation and the spiraling interest rates of the last 3 years. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to navigate and adapt to the treacherous economic waters from industry leaders like Alisa Camplin-Warner, Paul Gleeson, Lizzie Allen, Chris Deeble, and many more. Expanding your network and your professional skills while gaining 15 CPD points sounds like a good deal to take up.
4. The Resource Planning Summit
Where and when: St. Louis, MO, US, June 11 – June 14.
What to expect: RPS 2023 is hosted at the amazing venue “The Last Hotel STL” in St. Louis, a historical building that boasts both a rich history and a captivating architecture. The 2.5-day event addresses project managers and resource planners of every level. The speakers will attempt to address topics like inter-organizational resource competition, the adverse effects of poor resource planning, AOP forecasting, the relevance of resource planning in Agile, and many others. We would like to note, however, that the RPS 2023 edition stays true to its philosophy of adding fun and excitement to the mix. Besides the impressive lineup of industry experts, networking opportunities and the up to 20 PDU credits that participants can earn, events like the Foodie Tour, a party at On the Record and a spectacular Cirque du Soleil KA show are also included. 5. CHG MGMT
Where and when: Charlotte, NC, US, May 2 – May 3 | CHG MGMT: Global Connect Virtual Conference, May 9 – May 12.
What to expect: Hosted by ACMP in Charlotte, NC, the 2023 summit focuses on intersection of change management and customer experience, zeroing in on how the human-centric approach can drive growth. Numerous guest speakers including Michelle Yanahan, Ed Cook and Heather Stagl, panel discussions and extensive networking opportunities, as well as pre and post summit workshops recommend this year’s CHG MGMT summit. 6. IPMA 11th Research Conference 2023
Where and when: Nanjing, China, April 22 – April 23
What to expect: 2023’s IPMA hosted conference, aptly named “Research Resonating with Project Practice”, aims to help attendees deal with the new challenges in the rapid-changing project management environment. For this purpose, the event is designed as a dialogue between practitioners and academia, in order to bridge the gap between data-driven theoretical knowledge and the real world industry. 7. IPMA 2023 Educational Conference
Where and when: Hyatt Coconut Point, Bonita Springs, FL, US, June 4 – June 8.
What to expect: Boasting multiple renowned keynote speakers like Chuck Gallagher and Steve Gilliland, round table discussions and numerous entertainment options, and set against the backdrop of sunny Florida, the IPMA Educational Conference is certainly an event worth marking in your calendar. In addition, participants benefit from opportunity to enroll in the IPMA certification program. Be sure to book your spot if you consider it a good deal.
8. House of PMO
Where and when: London, UK, June 14 – June 15 | Edinburgh, UK, November 1st – November 2nd.
What to expect: The largest PMO conference in the United Kingdom, the 2023 event will include two sessions, one in London and one in Edinburgh. According to the organizers, both will be focused on helping PM practitioners develop their networks and portfolios, while learning about the latest trends and developments in the industry. Attendants can visit an excellent exhibition and get first-hand product demos.
9. Agile2023
Where and when: Orlando, FL, US, July 24 – July 28.
What to expect: Members of the Agile Alliance benefit from a $750 discount when booking a spot at the Agile 2023 conference, but the registrations are open to everyone. The conference will be chaired by Emma Armstrong with the assistance of program chairs Semira Allen, Chris Murman and Dana Pylayeva. 10. Future PMO
Where and when: London, UK, October 26.
What to expect: The 2023 edition of the PMO “The Final Frontier” conference is a 1-day event held at the Novotel London West. The magnus opus of Wellingtone, a leading PPM consultancy firm, aims to be a unique, informative, entertaining and sporting an unmistakable wow-factor, bringing together practitioners from all levels of the industry. 11. PMI Global Summit 2023
Where and when: Atlanta, GA, US, October 26 – October 28.
What to expect: Organized by the well-known Project Management Institute, the PMI Global Summit will be hosted this year at the prestigious Georgia World Congress center in Atlanta, USA. While the program and speakers for 2023 are yet to be announced, previous editions brought together multiple key figures in the industry, including Daniel Abella, Walter Amon, Raphael Ani among others, and addressed a broad array of topics from burnout management to effective communication in leadership and organizational maturity. 12. Digital Summit
Where and when: Phoenix, AZ, US, March 29 – March 30 | Washington, DC, US, April 18 – April 19 | Philadelphia, PA, US, October 16 – October 17.
What to expect: With conferences spread throughout the entire year and North America, Digital Summit 2023 is one of the most impactful series of events in the PMO world. Extensive sessions, prestigious speakers and roundtable talks are just some of the highlights, with everything included in the single-level pass. 13. Global Scrum Gathering (GSG) 2023
Where and when: Portland, OR, May 7 – May 10.
What to expect: The Global Scrum Gathering has been bringing the scrum community together since 2004, but 2013 is the year when it really took off. You can attend the event both in-person at the Oregon Convention Center and online, but if you opt for the former, becoming a member of the Scrum Alliance and securing a ticket at early bird prices will save you a few hundred dollars. Did we mention that those who hold a certification from the Scrum Alliance can earn 24 SEUs?
14. PGCS Symposium
Where and when: Hybrid Event, Canberra, Australia | Symposium, September 22 – September 23 | Masterclass, August 24.
What to expect: 2023 marks the 20 years anniversary since the seminal paper “Schedule is Different” was published, which makes this edition of PGCS feel special. Designed as a hybrid event, the PGCS 2023 schedule is a mix of technical and social skills, bringing together industry professionals under the theme “Competent people craft project success!”. Webinars, masterclasses and exhibitions are just a few of the things that recommend the PGCS symposium, and while tickets aren’t yet available for sale, you can register your interest in participating.
15. ICPM 2023
Where and when: Sydney, Australia, March 27 – March 28
What to expect: The final item on our list is also a world-famous Australian conference with an impressive program and list of speakers from all over the world. The International Conference on Project Management assembles leading members of the academia, researchers and scholars, and also acts as an interdisciplinary platform for practitioners and educators to showcase the latest innovations and trends in PM.
